Central Park · 2026 group pricing

Booking a Central Park pedicab tour for 4 people? The one thing worth knowing before you compare prices: a pedicab carries up to three passengers, so a group of four rides in two pedicabs, side by side, on the same route with the same guides.

The short answer. Four adults ride in two pedicabs. Our tours are priced per person, so you pay four times the per-person rate and nothing extra for the second pedicab — from $100 total for the 30-minute Economy ride, $160 for the one-hour Classic, or $320 for the two-hour Deluxe. A pedicab carries three passengers and a child counts as one, so every group of four needs two cabs — two adults with two children included.

Why four people means two pedicabs

A New York pedicab has one bench. Ours carry three passengers — three adults, or two adults and a child. There is no four-adult pedicab in Central Park — so any company quoting you a single cab for four grown-ups is either squeezing you in or has not read the question.

Two pedicabs is genuinely the better ride, and not just because it is the only option. You travel alongside each other rather than stacked three-deep on one bench, everyone gets an outside seat and a clear view, and you get two guides instead of one, which means two people pointing things out and taking your photographs. The cabs stay together for the whole route and stop at the same places.

What four people pay, by tour

Our prices are per person for the whole tour — not per hour, and not per pedicab. Children aged 3–12 pay the child rate, and infants under three ride free. The totals below are already worked out for you.

VIP Central Park & City2.5 hours$500$475$450
VIP Premium City Tour3 hours$1,200$1,150$1,100

Every group of four rides in two pedicabs: a cab carries three passengers, and a child counts as one. Prices are per person, so the second cab adds nothing to the total. Prices may vary during peak season and holidays.

The two rides priced by the pedicab, not the head

Two of our routes work the other way round: one flat price for the whole pedicab at $3 a minute, up to three guests, with no scheduled stops. For a group of four that means two pedicabs and twice the price — which still works out per person, because you are splitting each cab between two people instead of three.

New York City sets pedicab fares by time, and these two are priced exactly that way — the same rate whether one of you rides or three, with nothing added at the end. Nobody gets out and nobody walks. If you would rather stop at the landmarks and spend time on foot, the per-person tours above suit a group of four better.

Which tour suits a group of four

  • First time in the park, and you want the highlights. The one-hour Classic covers 15 landmarks for $160 between four of you.
  • Two couples with an afternoon. The 1.5-hour Premium at $240 adds Bethesda Terrace, the Mall and the Bow Bridge without turning into a half-day.
  • Family with two children. The Classic at $140 for two adults and two children, across two pedicabs, is the most-booked family combination.
  • Christmas, or four Home Alone fans. The 1.5-hour Home Alone 2 Movie Tour is $280 for four and stops at the real filming locations.
  • You want the whole park, including the north end most tours skip. The non-stop Full Loop, $360 for four in two cabs.

What every booking includes

  • Private pedicabs — your group only, never shared with strangers
  • A licensed local driver and guide per cab
  • Unlimited photo stops on the per-person tours
  • No walking — you stay seated the whole way
  • Pickup near Central Park South, flexible on the exact corner
  • The full total shown before you pay, and free cancellation up to 24 hours before you ride

Questions groups of four ask

Can four adults fit in one pedicab?

No. Our pedicabs seat up to three adults, so four adults ride in two cabs travelling together. Anyone offering four adult seats on one bench is overloading the cab.

Do we pay extra for the second pedicab?

No. The per-person price already covers it — four adults on the one-hour Classic is 4 × $40 = $160, the same as it would be if a four-seat pedicab existed. There is no second-vehicle fee.

Do the two pedicabs stay together?

Yes. They ride the same route, side by side where the path allows, and stop at the same landmarks so your group stays one group.

We are two adults and two young children — do we need two cabs?

Yes. A pedicab carries three passengers and a child counts as one, so four of you ride in two cabs. It costs no more — the per-person price is the same either way.

Can we pay separately?

Yes — book two rides of two people each if you would rather split it, or one booking for four and settle it between yourselves. The total is the same either way.

What if we are five or six?

Two pedicabs cover up to six adults, so five or six is still two cabs and the same per-person rate. Groups larger than six are worth a phone call: (929) 770-7705.

Are tips included?

No, tips are optional and go to your drivers. Nothing is added to the total you saw when you booked.

Is a pedicab cheaper than a horse carriage for four?

Usually yes, and you see far more of the park in the same time — a carriage is generally confined to the southern end, while a pedicab reaches Bethesda Terrace, the Bow Bridge and, on the Full Loop, the northern half.
