Pedicab ride packing list · every season
Packing for a pedicab ride in Central Park
Three things you need, and what we bring for you
You sit, your driver pedals. So your pedicab ride packing list is shorter than for a walk or a bike rental: a charged phone, one more layer than you think, and sunglasses. Here is the rest, season by season.
The short list
Bring these three. The rest is optional.
Most riders overpack. On a pedicab you barely walk, and your driver handles the route, the stops and the photos.

What to wear for the month you ride
New York swings from humid summers to freezing winters, so your pedicab ride packing list changes with the month. Dress for the forecast, then add one layer for the breeze.

Mar – May
Spring
Mornings start cool and afternoons warm up fast. Wear layers you can take off as the day goes on.
Pack: light jacket, sunglasses, allergy tablets if blossoms bother you
Jun – Aug
Summer
Hot and often humid. The canopy keeps the sun off your head, and the ride makes its own breeze.
Pack: water, sunscreen, hat, breathable clothes
Sep – Nov
Fall
The best colors and the most changeable weather. A sunny October afternoon can turn chilly by five.
Pack: a sweater or jacket, scarf for late rides · when the colors peak
Dec – Feb
Winter
Cold, but you ride under a blanket with the cover on. Light snow is lovely; if the drives ice over, we move the ride or refund it in full.

What we bring, so you don’t have to
- SeatsCushioned, for up to 3 guests
- Cool monthsBlankets & weather covers
- SunA canopy overhead
- PhotosYour driver takes them
- Walker or wheelchairWe hold it during the ride
- Route & storiesYour driver knows the park
Leave these off your pedicab ride packing list
- Suitcases and big bags. The seat is shared by up to three people, so a small bag or backpack is the limit.
- Walking shoes for miles. You only step out at photo stops.
- A map or guidebook. Your driver plans the route and tells the stories.
- A stack of cash. Rides are paid online or by card on the spot.
If the forecast says rain
No umbrella needed: in light rain the covers go on
Light rain does not stop us: the pedicab gets rain covers, and blankets when it is cold. Heavy rain, thunder, ice or high wind does, and then we contact you to move the ride or refund it in full.

Packing questions
What should I wear on a pedicab ride in Central Park?
Whatever suits the weather, plus one extra layer. The ride is breezier and shadier than walking. Comfortable shoes help at photo stops, but you won’t walk far.
Do you ride in the rain?
In light rain, yes, with rain covers on the pedicab and blankets if it is cold. For heavy rain, thunder, ice or high wind we reschedule you or refund you in full.
Is it too cold to ride in winter?
Not with the right coat. In cooler months we add blankets and weather covers, so bring a warm coat, hat and gloves and we take care of the rest.
Do I need cash?
No. You can pay online when you book or by card on the spot, including contactless, Apple Pay and Google Pay. A few small bills are handy only if you want to tip in cash.
Can I bring a bag or a walker?
A small bag or backpack is fine. Leave suitcases at the hotel, since the seat is shared by up to three guests. If you use a walker or wheelchair, we can hold it during the ride.
Packed in a minute
Phone, layer, sunglasses. You’re ready.
That’s the whole pedicab ride packing list. Pick a private ride and we bring the blankets, the stories and the photo stops. Light rain? Covers go on. Heavy rain? A new date or a full refund.
