A Private, Unhurried Way to Propose
Planning to propose in Central Park? We build the ride around your plan: you pick the spot, the hour and how the moment should unfold, and your driver works out a route that gets you there on time. When you arrive, the driver steps away so the moment stays between the two of you. Central Park covers 843 acres, and a private pedicab gets you to a quiet corner without a long walk, planned with you in advance. On the way you pass bridges, lawns and gardens maintained by the Central Park Conservancy — and we know which ones stay quiet at each hour.
Why Couples Propose From a Pedicab
More and more couples choose a Central Park proposal pedicab tour over walking, horse carriages, and boat rentals. Here’s why.
Complete Privacy
No fixed route, no audience. Your ride is entirely yours, and your driver discreetly steps away at the perfect moment.
Total Flexibility
Stop at Bow Bridge, wait for your photographer, circle back for photos — you control the route and the timing.
Quiet & Eco-Friendly
Silent, emission-free and calm — no engine noise or exhaust to break the romance of your special moment.
Top Places to Propose in Central Park
Central Park is filled with romantic locations. Your driver will take you to whichever spot speaks to your heart during your Central Park proposal pedicab tour — here are the five most-loved by our couples.
- Bow Bridge
- Bethesda Terrace & Arcade
- Gapstow Bridge
- Shakespeare Garden
- Cherry Hill
The most iconic spot in the park — a cinematic arch over the lake with the Manhattan skyline as your backdrop.
A dramatic, cathedral-like setting where even a whispered proposal carries beautifully in the golden afternoon light. Until about late summer 2027 the fountain is fenced off for restoration; the terrace and arcade stay open.
A quieter bridge with a view across the pond to the Plaza Hotel, at its prettiest in fall and winter.
A hidden four-acre garden of winding paths and seasonal blooms — a secret-garden feel that's wonderfully private.
An ornamental fountain overlooking the lake — every bit as photogenic as Bow Bridge, but with fewer crowds.

The Best Time for Your Proposal Ride
The season and the hour you pick to propose in Central Park change the light, the crowds and the mood of your proposal ride.
Spring
Cherry blossoms frame every path. Mid-April to early May is peak romance.
Summer
Long, bright days and the park at its greenest.
Winter
Snow-dusted bridges and holiday lights, with blankets for the cold.
Proposal Tour FAQ
It depends on how long you want to ride and what you would like to add. Call us at (929) 770-7705 or email info@truridenyc.com: we plan the ride with you and confirm the price before you book.
Yes. Tell us when you call or email and we will talk through the options. If you bring your own photographer, we plan the timing so they are in place out of sight near the spot you chose before you arrive.
Light rain does not cancel the ride: we fit rain covers on the pedicab, plus blankets on cold days. In heavy rain, thunder, ice or high wind, we reschedule your proposal or refund you in full. Otherwise you can cancel for free up to 24 hours before the ride; within 24 hours the booking is non-refundable.
For the fewest onlookers, pick Shakespeare Garden or Cherry Hill. Bow Bridge is the famous one and draws more people on weekends; if you want it, we suggest a weekday morning. Your driver checks the spot ahead of you and times your arrival.
Two weeks ahead is a safe minimum; allow three to four weeks in October, December or Valentine’s week, or if you would like extras such as a photographer. A regular private ride can be booked the same day when a pedicab is free.
