How Much Are Pedicabs in NYC?
Pedicab prices in Central Park confuse a lot of visitors — and a few walk-up drivers count on it. Here's the honest 2026 breakdown, plus a fixed private ride from $25.
From $25 Per Person Booked, or $180–$300/hr Walk-Up
A booked, private Central Park pedicab tour costs from $25 per person, rising with the length of the ride. A walk-up ride is charged at $3–$5 per minute — which can reach $180–$300 an hour. Booking online in advance is almost always cheaper, and comes with a fixed, upfront price you see before you go.

The single biggest factor is how you pay: a fixed, upfront price versus an open-ended per-minute meter.

Quick Answers Before You Ride
How many people fit in a pedicab?
Up to three passengers — three adults, or two adults and a child. Bigger group? Operators send several cabs together — just ask for group pricing.
Are tips expected?
Tipping is optional. Many guests leave 15–20% if they enjoyed the ride, but honest operators never build a tip into the quoted price.

See Tours & Book — from $25Is a Pedicab Worth It?
Wondering how much are pedicabs in NYC compared with other Central Park tours? A private pedicab covers far more of the park than a walking tour for a similar price, and it is usually cheaper than a horse-carriage ride — with none of the walking. That value is why so many visitors ask how much are pedicabs in NYC and then choose a booked, fixed-price ride over an unmetered walk-up cab. Frequently Asked Questions
How much are pedicabs in NYC per hour?
A private 1-hour Central Park pedicab ride with TruRide starts around $40 for adults and $30 for children, with the exact rate shown before you book. Longer rides cost a little more but cover far more of the park, so the per-hour value actually improves the longer you ride.
Is the pedicab price per person or per cab?
Rates are per person. Each pedicab carries up to 3 passengers, so a family of four rides in two cabs travelling together.
Why are walk-up pedicabs so expensive?
Unmetered street pedicabs often quote a low number and then charge $3–$5 per minute, so a short ride can cost far more than expected. Booking a fixed price ahead of time is the only reliable way to know how much are pedicabs in NYC before you get in.
Can I cancel if my plans change?
Yes — TruRide offers free cancellation up to 24 hours before your ride, so booking early carries no risk and no hidden fees.
